Jody Strickland
M.Sc., R. Aud(C), Audiologist
Jody is an Audiologist based in Maico’s Grand Falls-Windsor location. Jody graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Audiology from Dalhousie University in 1998. After taking her first position at the Miramichi Hospital in New Brunswick, she felt ‘a calling’ to return home to Central NL and now has over 25 years experience in educational, private practice, and hospital settings.
Her favorite aspect of being an audiologist is getting to know her patients and listening to what they have to say. She loves coming home from work at the end of the day knowing that she has made a difference her patients’ lives. In 2002, Jody completed the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) training program under the guidance of tinnitus expert, Dr. Powell Jastreboff, and was the only Audiologist in the province with this training for a number of years.
Jody thoroughly enjoys working with patients with tinnitus, and tinnitus counselling has been one of the most rewarding highlights of her career. Everyone who meets Jody can see that she has a wonderful personality and is passionate about many things, particularly her family, career, and travelling. She has been married to her husband, Boyd, for over 20 years and they have three amazing daughters. Raising her girls has been Jody’s greatest accomplishment.
